Destiny Washington (she/they), known as Lucretia McEvil, is a Bed-Stuy native, multidisciplinary artist and cultural worker based in Harlem. Rooted in the lived experience of a Black queer femme, their work explores culture, power, and emotional reality through video, prose, sound, mixed media, and community-based projects: centering memory, resistance, tenderness, and truth. Their practice bridges subculture, art, and activism to create spaces where complexity is honored and collective imagination can grow.
As an art director, visual artist, DJ, and content creator, Lucretia emerges her audiences by covering design, subculture, Black history, and cultural commentary. With over half a million views on YouTube and a TikTok audience that engages well above platform averages, her work sits at the intersection of craft and conversation.
The Work
Lucretia's practice doesn't stay in one lane. Video essays and cultural commentary on YouTube and TikTok sit alongside visual art, written criticism, DJ sets, and community events through Boss Comrade Sound System. The through-line across all of it is the same: Black life in full, without apology or simplification.
