SOUND CHECK

In partnership with Manhattan Neighborhood Network as a Creative Producer, Sound Check is a music and culture program I developed for MNN to highlight punk, Oi!, and hardcore communities in New York and beyond. The show blends live hosting, music reviews, and scene reporting with a raw, authentic energy inspired by legacy programs like Headbangers Ball and TRL.

Sound Check – Underground Music & Culture at MNN

From concept to premiere — developing an original show for underground music fans

During my residency MNN, I recognized an opportunity to expand its programming to include alternative and underground music, while connecting more deeply with 18–39 audiences across broadcast, digital platforms, and in-person events. Sound Check became a creative bridge, bringing subcultural authenticity into a polished, multi-platform format. The process strengthened my ability to blend underground credibility with professional broadcast standards, and highlighted the value of thoughtful pre-production planning and building trust within niche communities.
